Would it kill you to do an mkvmerge and not use the mp4 container?

Would it kill me? Probably not. But when I tried to convert it earlier, for some reason the resulting mkv was five hours long and super laggy. At that point, I was left with two options: upload the perfectly functional mp4 and ass files, or spend god knows how long fucking with settings and programs until the mkv worked. And I'm going to be honest with you: I don't get paid enough to make the second option worth my while. So while it's unfortunate that my technical incompetence is making your life marginally more difficult, I don't love you enough to rectify that shortcoming of mine.

Upload font attachments together with the subs. You can check what Chyuu, APEX, and others use. HS uses Open Sans at the very least. Arial is terrible. No need to make a second torrent, just upload the .zip to catbox/mixtape/mediafire or whatever you prefer and put it in the description of the video torrent. For making mkv use mkvtoolnix's mkvtoolnix-gui. It is retardproof and you just need to drag & drop the files (raw and .ass/fonts in this case), give it a name, and hit "start multiplexing".

See now, that was much more constructive. Cartelackey, I love you meaningfully more than I love Starks. Google had been telling me that I could just push the mkv button in VLCs convert tool, which was what I'd been using to make the hardsubbed mp4s. This was, as previously reported, unsuccessful. I just tested out mkvtoolnix-gui and it was, as advertised, retardproof. I'll have an mkv for episode 9 next week. That's the good news. The bad news is that we have fundamental disagreements about the aesthetic merits of Arial, so you're stuck with me using it for the foreseeable future. You may catch more flies with honey than with vinegar, but you can't catch them all. That's Ash's job.
