![I'm as sprightly at ten thousand years old as I was at five thousand; I just had some of the ol' bone-hurting juice](https://i.imgur.com/3Yv8vC8.png) The name and design of a mascot to be featured in the anime was from a contest run in Shougaku Ichinensei magazine. The winning entry, pictured above was Kai-chan (name) the Turtle (species). According to the submission, "The black button is for emergencies. The other ones play music." No further information about this is known. As the mascot's name is Kai-chan and "kame" appears to be simply a designation or specification, I've translated kame to turtle instead of leaving it in Japanese like the mascots whose species is also their name. The only Idol Time mascot whose gender has actually been indicated in-show or externally is Punicorn, unless I'm mistaken. I'd kind of assumed Pitsuji and Powan were female and Chuppe and Pakku male by their speech patterns and character designs, but in episode 51 there's a scene which makes it seem more likely that Pakku is female, so I've updated the script to go with that assumption.

Thank you! >The only Idol Time mascot whose gender has actually been indicated in-show or externally is Punicorn, unless I’m mistaken. I’d kind of assumed Pitsuji and Powan were female and Chuppe and Pakku male by their speech patterns and character designs, but in episode 51 there’s a scene which makes it seem more likely that Pakku is female, so I’ve updated the script to go with that assumption. This is interesting, good work!
