Damn. It was actually good. This is such a relief I feel like 1000 stones have lifted of my shoulders. They had to balls to take a stylistically different approach and own it, while keeping the spirit of the franchise intact. Holy shit this was nice to watch.

It looks like Adult Swim officially aired it for April Fool's Day: http://comicbook.com/anime/2018/04/01/adult-swim-flcl-season-2-early-april-fools-day/ They also aired it in the US on Toonami with Japanese audio & English subs. That's the first time an anime has premiered in the United States on a major TV network without an English dub :o
