The English audio is perfectly fine, with no loss of quality! If I did AC3 -> low bit rate 5.1 AAC or FLAC or DTS etc you might have grounds to complain!
As for why, I wanted to keep the 5.1ch and I just like to have the same audio format for the audio tracts AAC & AAC not AC3 & AAC
You can't claim no loss of quality. Well I guess you can, but it doesn't make it true. Anytime you encode lossy audio, it loses quality. Even if you're increasing bitrate, it's still losing quality. Same with video. Any time you encode from a lossy source, you're going to be degrading it. Whether you can notice the loss or not is a different story, but the loss is still there. It's best not to re-encode lossy audio if you don't have to. If you want AAC instead of AC3, then encode from a lossless source if possible.
If there was no lossless audio for the dub and your reasoning was to remain consistent with codecs, the ideal solution would have been to get the lossless Japanese audio and encode it to AC3. =P But honestly if that was the case, it was fine as AC3 and could be swapped out later when you could get the lossless audio from the USBD.
In any case, obviously you can do what you want.
