Over a decade ago we had numerous fan subbers who were dedicated to bringing the best Japanese to English translations ever. A very few of those groups still exist, they just don't pick up almost every season TV anime anymore because of mainstream trash like paid streaming subscriptions that hire lazy fucks like the people at Horrible Subs, and they they cater to young millennial and zoomer trash we have today. A clear example of that is how the best fan subber for Precure dropped out after episode 13 because Horrible Subs yet again fucked everything up. So yeah it matters to us real fans who subs our anime. Don't get booty blasted and "salty", as your generation likes to describe people like you, that some of us still care for a perfectly crafted product. Stop talking down to me and stop making a mockery out of this culture. I do not see anime the way you see it; as some kind of fucking joke you use as a tool for white supremacy. You already do that with the black community, who knows how many other things out there you are ruining. If you're a true anime fan (weeb) you don't even need translation... so even though good subs are appreciated and certainly make the experience more fun, but they are not necessarily a necessity for weebs. I remember one time I was watching an episode, and only halfway through I noticed the subs weren't even on on my player. "Tehe"pero~

broken subs are not a big deal you need to understand what is happening as long as u get a base idea , exact wording doesnt matter i many times dont even have to read the full line to understand what is happening as basic japnese sentences are understood by default and i started watching anime last year october ._. didnt learn japanese or anything just anime i do notice sometimes translation is different from what the person actually said but it doesnt bother me as much as to complain everywhere or wait a year for a BD i mean im not paying to watch anyway here so i dont get a right to complain ( i do buy merch and stuff atleast ;#)

@16:44 They subbed it as "Subaru-sama". If this was a legit sub they might have subbed it as "Mr. Subaru." Better than nothing. I'm pretty sure I've seen some other instances in simulcast subs where they just leave out the honorific altogether which is completely wrong. For example, if they did that with Railgun, and leave out the -sama in the subs, someone completely new to anime or the language would just miss the extra punch of the relationship yuri dynamics. (I just YouTubed some eng dub clips of Kuroko in Railgun...that's a tragedy). Just like with -chan and -tan. At least they add them in here for this anime, but it's a tragedy when they don't account for it at all in other anime. It's little details like this that cause a shitstorm unfortunately. That's probably the only reason real fansubs have the edge over the simulcasts, until they finally account for this sort of thing for me personally; the simulcast subs are hit or miss with the honorifics sometimes. I feel bad for the naive people watching anime for the first time because they're applying dull American relationship dynamics to something that is completely different. I had to bring this up just because they're so much banter about fansubs in this topic right now. BTW I started watching fansubs around the time Adult Swim started with Inuyasha and Cowboy Bebop.
