Lol. The admin tagged everything you have as a remake because it’s re-encoded from Erai or SubsPlease. You actually removed every single remake tag. It’s not your rip, therefore it’s a remake.
Wait.... these are re-encoded from CR rips?
I’m out, I’m out! Who’s kidneys are these?
Didn't think I'd get to use the full quote.
Sad to hear these are re-encodes, but the TS is better, right?
Isn't added TS enough for it to be not considered a remake?
@Ingenioussubs Did you confuse [mal lu zen](https://nyaa.iss.one/user/Mal_lu_zen) with Mad le Zisell
@DmonHiro
Yes. TS is better. It has proper fonts, layers, text positioning, honorifics, character names, styles, colors and such. ER is just subs "as-is".
Here, watch yourself. https://imgur.com/a/Pgr6s1g
Wtf, of course stuff that's reencoded from CR doesn't have to be marked remake. Otherwise literally every fansub release would marked remake. You're the one who doesn't know the rules, mate.
What kind of stupid rule would it be to say "if you reencode from a public rip, it's red, but if you reencode from your own rip, it's not red"?
Almost every red release on this website doesn't need to be marked red, at least under how the rules were interpreted on old nyaa. Of course, I don't necessarily *mind* that all the simple reencode groups mark their stuff as red...
>Otherwise literally every fansub release would marked remake.
thats why it isn't enforced. well one can always update rules and say it won't apply to torrent posts before the date of update.
in Dmon vs Heibi we had this
>This is meant to describe the situation where someone takes a release, and encodes the video files as provided into another release. In this situation they did not make their own encode from whatever available source(BDMV or such) is around, or otherwise use some other available raw.
did not address what happens if the source / raw source itself is a release on nyaa.
I don't know. I feel like it kind of is a red release. The encode is a re-encode of an encoded source. The subs are improved, but I don't know if that is enough for this not to be red. In my case, I made a brand new encode from the BDMV, and used the same subs. That was deemed not red.
Seems like someone is on a mad_le_zisell hunt just to be a ... (what's the word that rhymes with hunt that I am trying to remember?) . Thank you @mad_le_zisell because your encodes and work always stand out as different to me .
@fuee
File size for one and because I can't see much of a difference in picture quality. Or do you mean I should take 1080p video and re-encode it to 720p?
@Father_Snrub
"Blunt"? "Stunt"? "Grunt"? "Shunt"?
You lied to me. Your video quality is far worse then even the 720p rip from CR, let alone the 1080p.
https://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/7363
@motbob: No, you're not quite right. A rencode from a 1080p rip SHOULD be red, because it's an encode from a source that was already encoded once. In your case, if you encode from a .ts, it's not red. If you encode from, say... someone elses raw (not use the raw, but encode it again) then I think it should be red. You don't need to rip your own raw to not be red, but the raw should only have been encoded once, not twice, like Mad here does.
Definitely should be red.
@DmonHiro I never lie. Checked your link and don't see any difference. Also I didn't promise you better picture. I promised you better TS. It is two different things.
Actually, you did say "encoding and TS" when I asked "Better encoding? Better TS?"
And are you serious? You actually don't see a difference? Like, REALLY don't see a difference?
Dude, I'm sorry to say, but you should either get your eyes examined or get a better monitor.
I'm not saying this to be a jerk, I'm 100% serious. There is no way you shouldn't be able to see the differences.
The lines are far less defined. The colors are washed out. There is obvious pixelation due to bit starvation.
Look at her ass. You can hardly see the creases in her hakama in your encode. Come on...
> SHOULD be red, because it’s an encode from a source that was already encoded once.
By your logic all BDrip should be marked red because it’s an encode from a source (BDMV) that was already encoded once (from the original master).
Also are you not aware that fansubbers take whatever video CR/Funi/Amazon/etc. spits out and use that encode magic on it (anti aliasing, debanding, descaling and then upscaling, and whatnot depending on the source).
No, that's the point. If you encode it from the BD, which is standard (and as lossless as you're going to get, as a consumer), you've only encoded in once, from the source (which is the BD). If you're encoding from a CR rip, you are encoded from something that was already encoded once from the masters which CR received. While you could argue that the BD is already encoded once from the master (which is true), the BD is as uncompressed as it can be, given the size of the optical medium. While the CR encode is already encoded to save space from the master. A BD episode is around 5.5 GB, while a CR episode is 1.3 GB. So you are already starting with a huge handicap if you are encoding from a CR episode. No matter how hard you try to justify it, an encode encoded from a CR source is inferior to the same CR source. While the same can be said for an encode from a BD (the encode is inferior to the BD), the degree of inferiority differs greatly. An encode from CR is very much inferior to the source while an encode from a BD is only slightly inferior to the source.
It should do like this:
Bluray --> Encode = OK.
Masters --> Crunchy/Funi/Amazon/Netflix --> Encode = Red.
It's that extra encoding that should decide if something is red or not, and that should be obvious from the screenshot compare I posted earlier.
@DmonHiro
Yes. I said "Encoding and TS" meaning "different encoding and TS". I didn't say it is "better". But yes, for ME it is better because it weights less (main criteria for me) it looks good without giant pixels on whole screen when there's animation heavy segments and overall doesn't stand out.
I have good monitor and good eyesight. Also slight lines (like that on her ass) that may be lost when encoding is irrelevant, since you most likely won't notice it while watching. Unless you like to pause and examine each and every frame of course.
If you want pixel-perfect 100500k releases, you're in the wrong place. I don't mean to be a dick here, but I'm doing this mainly for myself and those who like me just want to watch new anime season with proper subtitles and without any codec troubles, picture freeses, lagging video and other such problems caused by x265/10bit/100500p videos. If you're not from these people, you have many other releases who has un-encoded picture and horrible looking subs. Watch them. Otherwise you can just extract subs from video and attach it to any source you like. You know how it is done. I hate when people start demand something on a free site where people doing their work for free.
@mad_le_zisell: Just ignore people like DmonHiro and fuee. They can just wait and download Erai v2 (or literally millions of other releases out there) yet are ragging on you for some reason.
To be fair, I wasn't ragging on Mad that much. It was more of a misunderstanding. I assumed the answer to my question was "better encode" not "different encode", and called him out on the apparent misinformation. The rest of my comments weren't directed at him, but at the users debating what should and should not be considered a red release. Mad has better TS, there is no arguing about that, but the encode is vastly inferior. If some people only want small size, they should download this. But don't download this and expect good quality video, as I did.
^ Regarding this remake vs non-remake debate, I think people should just stop on rule-sharking things. Clearly, mad added something (TS, Chapters) other than just plain re-encoding Erai/SubsPlease release. At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter if it is red or not. The remake rule is there for obvious re-encodes/mini-encoders like Edge, ASW, etc. There's nothing wrong with being labelled a remake. People download them for a reason.
@DmonHiro
I still fail to see a logic in having extra crispy rips in exchange for bloated file size, but OK, next time I will try to change my conversion settings.
