Volume 1 of 4 of a Blu-ray release for *Idol Time PriPara*, others to come hopefully sooner than never\*. Features include:
- Retimed and somewhat revised scripts with various consistency fixes and other minor improvements/corrections
- Songs revised from official lyrics where necessary and in some cases significantly redone – for some this was simply copying from a later episode; others were retranslated from scratch, a task I didn't want to commit to for all songs but wound up doing in several cases anyway
- Honorifics and no-honorifics tracks included, honorific track tagged enm
- Descaled 4:4:4 native res encodes
\*This project got moving when I ~~forced~~encouraged a mate to finally finish *PriPara* by watching the episodes with him, smashing out script retiming and revision and then sending him pre-release BD episodes. This started with episode 20, so in theory episodes 13-19 are the last ones where the bulk of the work hasn't already been completed.
To let us know of any issues, you can use the #qc-feedback channel on the [SMC-Subs Discord](https://discord.gg/D748P5v) or create an issue or PR on [the project's public Github repo](https://github.com/jymmysmcsubs/smc-subs-idol-time-pripara).
Thanks!
A bit weird doing it before Pripara S3, considering that it also was done by you, but I guess IT needed less script revision.
Are there seiyuu commentary tracks or something?
**Bluefox_1**: No commentaries. Pretty sure *PriPara* S3 was the last Pretty Series disc release to have them.
This in theory shouldn't take forever, and then I can actually finish *PriPara* S3 before doing a BD batch for that as well.
@nicholas_ik: Nope, *PriPara* is a 720p show, so a properly descaled version is in my opinion the only thing worth releasing/downloading. When played back with a decent player, this will look better than the 1080p BDs. There is theoretically an advantage to doing the 1080p upscale in the encode, rather than player-side, since you can use slower-than-real-time scalers and filter out the (imo very minor) upscaling artifacts, but I don't consider this worthwhile. Plus if you play this on a 4K TV or anything other than a FHD display, you're scaling it in the end anyway.
