Hello! My rips are made from Japanese BDMV, unless stated otherwise. In terms of video quality, my raws should be comparable to ReinForce (since I started from their settings, and then modified it). I don’t use AA, blur, denoise and other such “enhancements”. Basically, the idea of my encodes will be: as similar to BDMV as possible, while reducing size 3-4 times. Also I will rip Audio Commentaries, interview’s and such things (everything, that’s on BD). Again, If you found any Bugs, mistakes, problems etc. Please comment! If needed I will reencode. I'm not going to be carping here, but IMO if you don't do any pre-processing then x264 10bit should not be used unless the only thing you want is to sacrifice the hardware decode compatibility. x264 10bit can improve compressibility is basically just a myth in this particular topic: pure re-encode. (while x265 10bit is better than 8bit but that's because of the encoder optimization things not 10bit)

@x_x I do not fully understand your comment. Do you mean I should use x264 8bit? I did a lot of testing with it, and using 10bit heavily decreases the banding (encoding banding, not the banding that was originally) at the same size.

@lorelei99 Sorry, I'm just talking about my experience here (which is x264 bits make no diff in no-pp encoding), but if your tests give the opposite result, I agree with it.

Well, I tested it again and I noticed that 8bit are more likely to destroy the dither pattern, so I think that explains why we are having opposite experiences.

@x_x Yes, that explains it.:)
Great video quality!
