I just forgot to use default option for subtitles when encoding. You can easily activated. I recommend mpvnet player; https://github.com/mpvnet-player/mpv.net

Just download mpvnet player which i mentioned the comments. Open anime with mpvnet. You will see at the bottom. -/2 just left click this. Thats all. 1/2 all subtitles 2/2 signs and songs. Once activated you can watch many episodes, without need activating, but if you close the player you should activate again. I added an images how to activated subtitles in mpvnet. This torrent has dual audio, if you wanna watch eng dub no need subtitles. Subtitles made for japanese dub.

I think you are misunderstanding what Im asking. Not how to turn the subs on/off, but the FONT on the subs is different from hark0n release and I am wondering why?

hark0n’s font bold but mine font isn’t even i used hark0n’s, Idk the reason, maybe encoding did it. Like i said im not encoder so idk these detailed things. I used best 1080p source for this and i made it this using handbrake. I tried to ffmpeg but it was to hard for me.

I tried several different video players, including the one you linked above. As you can see in the screenshot, I was using your recommended player and the font is different. I had never used that player before, so I had to download and install it. What you see in the screenshot is with default program settings.

Its weird but i think its not big deal. I was wondering what is the reason of this, too. I extracted audio and sub files from this release; https://nyaa.iss.one/view/1402438 and muxed them into cxraw, which i used. Just mini info you can resize subtitle with “F” not “f”. f makes fullscreen in mpvnet player.

Definitely not a big deal, it doesn’t bother me. However, if you were to ever do any fine-tuning on this and upload it again, maybe have a look at these:

• Fonts in general. I checked random episodes from each season, and they are not uniform across seasons. Some fonts are bolded in one season but not another, some seasons have more than one font (for example: Ail and An’s dialogue in R uses a completely different font from any other dialogue).
• Subtitle timing. The timing is off in every season. It’s not off by much, but you can definitely notice they aren’t timed correctly. In some seasons the subs are slightly too fast, in others they are slightly too slow. I wanna say they’re generally only off by about 1 second at most (either way).

I don’t want to diminish your efforts of course. This is still a fantastic upload with the improved video quality :) Just some constructive feedback in case you ever have time or feel like improving it.

I’m aware of that. Video source is the reason of sub timing differences. There was 1 second difference between cxraw and ita dvds. I didnt touch that since no big timing difference. Except cxraw, there are only one 1080p source: FatCatRaw. But Cxraw looks better to me. I know there was moozzi2 too (someone made 1080p original sailor moon using moozzi2 as video source) but i have to choice: best looking or moozzi2. I’m not planning any update for this release since ±1 second sub timing differences not big deal. but if someone make retimed subtitles please add the comments. I will change desc and add as ddl. Of course i upload that sub into my gdrive or onedrive, etc Other than that im not planning any update or change.

That is because some episodes (I only checked 2 of them) don’t have fonts attached. If you have needed fonts installed locally, video player will be able to use them, otherwise it will use default font (depends on player/OS).

They are both Bold (at least in your screenshots), it is the border thickness that causes the visual difference. Subtitle files include detailed styling of the dialogue and here it specifies 2px for border - for my release player renders 2px for 768x576 while for you release it renders the same 2px for 1440x1080. This can be partly fixed by enabling border and shadow scaling in the subtitle script properties (ScaledBorderAndShadow parameter) - it is enabled for Sailor Moon S and border has correct thickness there. You can read more about this in Aegisub documentation

• Main dialogue: Impress BT
• OP and ED: Segoe Marker
• Episode titles: Belwe Lt TL (Belwe TL Medium)

On top of that, many episodes contain specific fonts for signs, but I can’t list them all here

weird request, but it looks like the font for SuperS was changed. Do you happen to have it uploaded somewhere? I cant seem to find it online.

hark0n didn’t made supers and sailor stars. TuxedoKamen made it them.You should ask this to tuxedo not hark0n. Also why did you obsessed with fonts this much?

Because I want the same type of font throughout. They also look better when presented in the way they are supposed to be.
Also, the subs themselves are from SMC, whoever did that (not sure if they are even active anymore.)

Source written on description. I compared eng dubs and i can say Yes.

I downloaded only SuperS and Stars from this, as i already had first 3 seasons in 1080p from sxales releases. was disappointed to find out the subs were off straight on the first episode (they start ok but becomes off at the second part of the episode) i checked the second episode and same problem there. guess i’ll have to stick to the DVDs for the last two seasons.

I quick checked some episodes from s4 and s5. There is no big issue like you said. The only real issue some times subtitles came from behind but not much. The difference maybe ±1 seconds or less. I’m aware subtitles off from beginning but you can easily open it, so that one is not issue i just forgot to open subtitles when encoding. If these big problem for you then go and use 480p dvd version.

English dub is out of sync
