Here's an interesting little Italian-Japanese co-production from 30 years ago. Toei's Märchen Oukoku adapts various fairy tales from around the world into 20-minute episodes.
The DVD-BOX I bought contains the following:
- DISC1 - Aladdin and the Magic Lamp / Cinderella / Beauty and the Beast
- DISC2 - Puss in Boots / The Little Match Girl / Hansel and Gretel
- DISC3 - Pinocchio / Snow White / The Three Little Pigs
- DISC4 - Sleeping Beauty / The Golden Goose / The Wolf and the Seven Young Goats
- DISC5 - Alice in Wonderland / Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves / Thumbelina
- DISC6 - Little Red Riding Hood / Gulliver's Travels / The Three Musketeers
- DISC7 - The Nutcracker / The Wizard of Oz / The Emperor's New Clothes
- DISC8 - Town Musicians of Bremen / The Little Mermaid / The Adventures of Sinbad
This series is known by many names. The [original airings](https://i.imgur.com/mcBElap.png) used the title Anime Sekai no Douwa. This [was changed](https://i.imgur.com/UXMowVp.png) on the DVD release to Märchen Oukoku, as it's listed on [Toei's site](https://lineup.toei-anim.co.jp/ja/tv/merhen/). But the [DVD box itself](https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B077QNGY24) went by yet another name, Sekai Meisaku Mukashibanashi. I'm at least thankful it acknowledges the Oukoku name on the [DVD menus](https://i.imgur.com/226CY8L.png).
For whatever unfortunate reason, episodes 10 and 26 (Robin Hood and Heidi) are missing from the JP DVD set. If you understand [French](https://nyaa.iss.one/view/1053228) or [Spanish](https://nyaa.iss.one/view/1053383) you can get them from those two torrents.
The audio quality on these discs is not the best, but beggars can't be choosers. If anyone knows where to find this series in better quality, or at least the JP dubs of ep.10 and 26, comment below. I'd hate to think they're lost media.
