This series is a gem and I would have never expected an official English release. If you are in the US and can access K Manga please consider purchasing the chapters!
@Komugi I have been working on the scanlation for this for 5 years now and the author always goes on hiatus after a new volume releases. The author is now working on the chapters for volume 13.
interesting ... because that would mean that you are probably part of the scanlation group Project Vinland ... and on their mangadex page they say that this story is on indefinite hiatus ... which is a puzzle, because on the mangaupdates webpage for that manga it shows that Project Vinland translated ch 124 2 years ago ... and considering that v12 is ch's are 098-107 ... that would probably make ch 124 part of vol 14

so, you are just now posting v12 ... but the scanlation group you belong to translated ch 124 2 years ago ... exactly what is the truth ... was this story dumped by the official licensing company after they put out v12 and then went on "indefinite hiatus", but in Japan the story went farther 2 years ago ?
@komugi Yes, I am the owner of Project Vinland ^^ The publication history of Historie (lol) can seem a bit complicated an convoluted, but it is really quite straightforward, I will try to explain. (Due to the length of this comment I will have to split in two lol)
Iwaaki-sensei is old and has had a long career of being a mangaka. Right now he suffers from several health issues that impact his ability to draw, mainly retinal hemorrhage and paralysis in his dominant arm. This makes it so that he isn't able to keep up a regular serialisation schedule, like other authors. So after volume 10 released many years ago, he stopped his regular serialization in Afternoon magazine. Instead opting to sporadically publish manuscript pages of the chapters he was working on. These would usually be 8-10 pages of mostly pencil sketches and would come once every 2-3 months. These "chapters" would get their own number in the magazine, but they weren't actually full chapters. For example the chapter 124 you mentioned was a mere 8 pages, and eventually ended up becoming chapter 107 in the collected volume 12, together with 122 and 123. Volume 12 only came out 3 months ago (and we published the English translation on the same day of release) and collected all the manuscript chapters into bigger chapters, now with finished artwork. So manuscript chapters 108-124 were consolidated into finished chapters 98-107.
So unfortunately no, the story did no go further in Japan yet, but as happened after volume 11, Iwaaki-sensei is taking an extended break due to his age and health problems, and will be working on the manuscript for volume 13 during that time. There were 5 years between the publication of volume 11 and volume 12, but Iwaaki-sensei said that he wants the release of volume 13 to be much earlier. Hopefully we will see volume 13 in less than 5 years!
@komugi And the story wasn't dumped by the official licensing company, it was only just picked up last month! They seem to be publishing this series per-volume. Last month they published the chapters for volumes 1-3, and this week they published the chapters for volume 4. So I hope they keep up at this pace and before long we will be caught up with Japan.
Hope this answers your questions!
@ Rillant ... thank you for taking the time to answer my questions ... I can very definitely understand that Iwaaki-sensei is old and has health problems ... I myself am old and have health problems, and yeah that can very definitely affect how easy or not easy it is to do the same things that you could easily do when you are young ...
... and I can understand about the "manuscript ch's" being consolidated in to "finished ch's" ... over the years I have see more than one or two manga that had noticeable differences between what came out in the comic magazines over there, and what ended up coming out in the tankoubon vol's
... thank you for that info
... it can be very annoying when info posted on various websites conflict with each other (or is not telling "the whole story"), all it does is causes confusion
I do appreciate what you and other uploaders do ... for example, the Shojo Null story you were uploading, now that it is complete I have been looking for raws of the tank vol's so I can assemble the individual ch's in to complete vols
again ... thank you
