**Note: You can update from an older version by simply running the included wizard.**  ### The Touhou98 Experience v3.0.0 Main features: - Custom Touhou-styled icons for diving straight into the games, no need to set up any emulator settings. - Both Japanese and English editions of the games are included, plus a few others, including Trial versions, Enhanced editions and a few modded ones. - The game disks are free of any custom settings and score files, for a brand-new game experience. - Savefiles are shared between the Japanese, Japanese Enhanced and English editions of the same game, with a customizable system which allows you to choose which editions share savefiles. - Two different emulators (DOSBox-X and Neko Project 21fmgen), which can be easily swapped to suit your preferences. - Every game folder features a "story_e" folder containing the story files translated to English. - Lots of useful extra stuff. More details on the new savefile sharing system: - The various editions are divided into types (for example, the original japanese, enhanced japanese and english editions belong to the type "main") - All of the editions belonging to the same type use the same savefiles (they're transferred on the fly when starting the game) - This means you can, for example, switch between the english and enhanced japanese editions without losing your scores and progress. - The type each edition belongs to is determined by its subfolder in the "disks" folder. - The types are fully customizable by moving the HDI files around, in case you want to group or ungroup the editions differently. (You can check the "readme_advanced" file in the "extras" folder for info on how to customize the system.) Main changes from the previous version (v2.00): - Added "plus" editions with the enhanced (aka debloated/anniversary) releases from the Rec98 project, which run slightly more smoothly than the original games. - Added "tr" trial versions for the last four games. - Added a couple modded editions (th04mouse with mouse control and th05crits with random crits). - Implemented a savefile sharing system. - Added a migration wizard (run_me_first.exe) which will automatically convert your savedata from the older versions of the pack into the new format. It will also allow you to migrate this modern version to future versions, even if you have customized any of the editions' types. - Introduced full support for both WinXP and Linux. You can find the rest on the changelog file. If you have already played on an older version of the Touhou98 pack, you can update to the new version by running the included wizard (run_me_first.exe). It will copy each of the games' HDI files you've last played with and use them as savefiles for the new savedata system.
