Orphan presents the first English-subtitled version of *Hiroshima ni Ichiban Densha ga Hashitta* (*The First Tram Runs to Hiroshima*), a 1993 NHK special to commemorate the 48th anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima. It tells the story from the point of view of three schoolgirls drafted to work as tram conductors, after the men are sent to war or war work. Their lives are fairly routine - too much work, too little food and sleep - until their world is destroyed on August 6th.
