There's technically already a remux of the series here: https://nyaa.iss.one/view/1860007
...but that one doesn't even bother to split the episodes for the Toonami cut of season 2, nor does it split the episodes for any of the IG cut discs. Well, not only have I gone and done just that, but I've also added the commentary tracks into the episodes themselves (for some reason, when you put in the disc in MakeMKV, a separate copy of the episode will be made with just the commentary track; there will be one long file with the episodes without the commentary tracks, all merged into one).
And this release contains the extras ripped from disc 5, as well as scans from the Japanese DVDs. For some reason, for the IG version of episodes 1-4, the English 2.0 track uses the Toonami music selection, rather than the IG music selection (and this is despite those coming from the Japanese DVDs). So I've taken the liberty of editing and syncing the 2.0 tracks from the old Bandai USA uncut volume 1 to these remuxes.
But by far the biggest change of all is the addition of hybrid audio, a custom made audio track for the IG cut that uses as much of the Toonami audio as possible, filling in gaps where cuts were made and/or overhauling the audio work for areas I disagree with either Toonami or I disagree with both Toonami AND IG. Yeah, I'm one of those who prefers the Toonami soundtrack overall. I even made a custom English track of episode 24's Japanese broadcast ending in the extras. Along with these new audio tracks, you'll also find revised subs for the IG version, OCR'd and modded from the blu-ray subs (EG, changing instances of "Mark" to "Masa").
In terms of video, the Toonami version of episode 3 replaces a weird case of Takeshi appearing shocked and then jump cutting to him smirking after one of his punches fails to connect to Ricardo, with the full shot of him appearing shocked from the IG version. For episode 14, during the shot where Bjorn says "It's showtime", there was originally a frame of the opening reception earlier in the episode flashing for a split second; the IG version doesn't have this problem, hence my replacement. And the IG version of episode 1 originally had the second part of the eyecatch showing a black screen at the part where the background's supposed to change from black to white, likely due to something going wrong with the master of that episode Discotek received when giving it the AstroRes treatment. I also took the liberty of using the second part of the clean eyecatch from another episode, copying the MP4 via FFMPEG, editing it in Premiere Pro, and then Appending everything in MKVToolNix. All of that stuff... it's real technical.
With all of that being said, I hope you enjoy this release. BTW, all of these was optimized for VLC, so if you're using MPC, you might have to do some negative delaying (hopefully you won't have to do that with other programs like PotPlayer).
