I encode because I like it so no worries about me stopping because of anyone else. I have stopped releasing and seeding to Nyaa, though, because torrenting is an entirely different story. The seeding situation here is even worse than it was on old Nyaa. Nearly everyone has their client set to immediately shut down on completion and they seed nothing back. I've been shorting the good seeders on private trackers of my bandwidth to feed freeloaders here, and that's now ended.
